Attempted burglary reported in Pa.

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said nothing was reported missing in a residential burglary that occurred Friday in Mont Alto.

The report said the home of Anthony Pirozzi, of 211 S. Main St., was entered through a cellar door between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. An attempt to force open an interior door was unsuccessful, according to police.

Man charged with alcohol possession

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A 20-year-old McConnellsburg man was charged Saturday after police discovered alcohol had been consumed, according to Pennsylvania State Police.


George R. Richards, 20, of HCR 75, Box 12, was charged with the purchase, consumption and possession or transportation of liquor or malt or brewed beverages, police said.

Police pulled over a vehicle at North First Street at 9:05 p.m. and found the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage, police said.

W.Va. man facing DUI, gun charges

FREDERICK, Md. - A Falling Waters, W.Va., man was charged Sunday after police pulled over a vehicle and found a gun inside, according to Frederick Police.

Craig Moffitt, 21, of Route 1, Box 117, was charged with driving while intoxicated, transporting a handgun and destruction of property, police said.

At 1:45 a.m., police saw a flatbed truck exit the parking lot of the Terrace Lanes bowling alley on West College Terrace by driving over the grassy area between the sidewalk and the road, police said.

When police tried to stop the vehicle, the driver and the passenger began to move around suspiciously in the vehicle and did not pull over right away, police said.

When the vehicle stopped, the driver was found to be intoxicated and a search of the vehicle turned up a .44-caliber Magnum handgun and several rounds of ammunition, police said.

Man charged with drug possession

FREDERICK, Md. - A Temple Hills, Md., man was charged Sunday after police arranged a purchase of crack cocaine, according to Frederick Police.

Gregory Richardson, 29, was charged with distribution of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine, police said.

Officers of the Frederick Police Department Tactical Unit arranged to purchase crack cocaine at 12:30 a.m. on West Seventh Street at Motter Avenue, police said.

Car stolen from mall parking lot

A 1985 Dodge 800 was reported stolen from the parking lot of the Valley Mall at 10:35 p.m. Saturday, according to Washington County Sheriff's deputies.

The sky blue, four-door vehicle bears Md. tags YMR 774.

The owner, a mall employee, realized his vehicle was gone when he got off work Saturday night, deputies said.
