Screening for osteoporosis set

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Cumberland Valley Medical Services will offer a screening for osteoporosis from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 27, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at John L. Grove Medical Center, Greencastle.

The cost is $25.

It is estimated that at age 50, a woman has nearly a 40 percent chance of developing an osteoporatic fracture during her remaining lifetime.

A woman's lifetime risk of hip fracture alone is equal to the combined risk of developing breast, uterine and ovarian cancer.

Fellowship meeting set for Tuesday

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Greencastle-Antrim Fellowship will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Conococheague Grace Brethren Church, 17 N. Washington St., Greencastle.

The speaker will be Joy Thacker, a wife and mother who is experienced in counseling individuals, couples and children.

The topic will be anemone, the Paschal flower. Music will be provided by Mandi Stottlemyer.

Babysitting is available at Magic Years, 645 E. Baltimore St., Greencastle.

Dance scheduled

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Silver Spur Dance Club is holding a country/western dance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Special Events Center, Greencastle.

The DJs will be Denny and Carole Tracey.
