CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg Borough Police have charged a man with robbery and other offenses in connection with two January incidents.

Kevin R. Boyer, 19, no address available, also was charged with attempted robbery, two counts of criminal conspiracy, recklessly endangering another person and five counts of corruption of minors, according to the report.

Boyer, who was being held in Lancaster County Prison on unrelated charges, was returned to Franklin County Wednesday and arraigned before District Justice Gary Carter. He was jailed on $100,000 bond. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday.

The report said that at about 2 a.m. Jan. 9, Daniel P. Toomey of Chambersburg was tending to his disabled vehicle on the 1000 block of Stouffer Avenue when two men ordered him out of the car at gunpoint and took his wallet.

At 2:25 a.m. Jan. 10, David L. Jones of Chambersburg was loading newspapers into a vending machine near the intersection of East King Street and Fifth Avenue when two men, one with a handgun, approached him, according to the report. The affidavit of probable cause said one of the men stuck the gun in his back and mumbled something Jones didn't understand.

Police said Jones got back to his vehicle and escaped without being robbed or injured.
