Beth Jones and Michael Chaney were married Saturday, Aug. 31, 1997, in Hagerstown City Park.

The bride is the daughter of Rev. Dr. Harold E. and Doris Barnett of Mathias, W.Va. The bridegroom is the son of the late Catherine Burger Smith and Lester I. Smith.

The bride received her masters degree in counseling at Shippensburg University in 1995. She is a program developer and therapist for Catholic Charities in Chambersburg, Pa.


The bridegroom owns and operates Mike's Automotive in Hagerstown.


Cindy Lou Sickenberger and Bryan L. Rowzee were married Thursday, May 29, 1997, at Washington DC temple in Kensington, Md.

The bride is the daughter of Hugh and Mary Sickenberger of Warrensburg, N.Y. The bridegroom is the son of Ray and Mary Etta Rowzee of Hagerstown.

The bride is a graduate of Vernon Verona Sherill High School in N.Y. She is now a senior at Brigham Young University, majoring in family history.

The bridegroom is a 1991 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He attended Hagerstown Junior College and is a 1997 graduate of Brigham Young University with a bachelor of arts in history. He also served two years in the Adelaide Australia mission.

They live in Provo, Utah.


Gail Bishop Tenney and John Russell Collis were united in marriage Aug. 23, 1997, at Washington Square United Methodist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Robert Tenney of Hagerstown and the late Robert Tenney. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hank Collis of Gerrardstown, W.Va.

The new Mrs. Collis is a graduate of Hamburg High School in N.Y.

Mr. Collis is a graduate of Musselman High School in Bunker Hill, W.Va.

He is employed by American Woodmark in Berryville, Va.

They live in Inwood, W.Va.


Jennifer Lee Hammer and Jeremy Dean Vanorsdale were united in marriage Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Martinsburg, W.Va.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory R. Shaffer of Martinsburg and Dr. John W. Hammer Jr. D.D.S. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Vanorsdale Sr. of Martinsburg.

The new Mrs. Vanorsdale is a 1989 graduate of Hedgesville High School and a 1995 graduate of Shepherd College. She is a treatment coordinator at West Virginia Youth Advocate Program in Martinsburg.

The bridegroom is a 1989 graduate of Martinsburg High School. He is a member of the Gray Union Band.

They reside in Martinsburg.


Cheryl Lynn Maness and Douglas Arnold Griffith Jr. were married Nov. 15, 1997, at Boonsboro Bible Church.

The bride is the daughter of Patricia Maness of Frederick, Md. The bridegroom is the son of Douglas and Linda Griffith of Garis Shop Road, Hagerstown.

The bride is a graduate of Brunswick High School. She is employed by Sheetz Inc. at National Pike, Boonsboro.

The bridegroom attended South Hagerstown High School. He is employed by Calvert Masonry Inc.

They live on Woodstock Lane, Rohrersville, Md.


Susan Draper and Kerry McFatridge were married Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stewartstown, Pa.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Zack Draper of Smithsburg. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence McFatridge of Stewartstown.

The bride is a 1988 graduate of Smithsburg High School and a 1993 graduate of York College in York, Pa. She is employed by Giant/Martins Food Stores.

The bridegroom is a 1987 graduate of Kenard Dale High School in Fawn Grove, Pa. He is employed as an operator for Asplundh Tree Experts.

They live in Stewartstown.


Candace Gwen Brawner and Jose Javier Reyes were married Jan. 24, at Church of God Universal in Hagerstown.

The bride is the daughter of Charles Thomas Brawner and Winnifred Miriam Brawner of Hagerstown. The bridegroom is the son of Anastacio Reyes and Azucena Reyes of Miami, Fla.

The bride is a sophomore at Hagerstown Junior College.

The bridegroom is a junior at Mount St. Mary's College.

They live in Hagerstown.
