Public Square work to resume

Construction crews are expected to resume work on Public Square on Monday, said Assistant City Engineer Rodney Tissue.

Crews stopped working in mid-January because they were waiting for stones to be finished for the planters in the southeast quadrant, Tissue said.

Workers also didn't want to work through the colder months since materials could freeze, he said.

The southeast quadrant by the Alexander House - the last quadrant to be renovated - is expected to be done by mid-April, Tissue said.

The $455,000 renovation project began on Aug. 4, 1997.
