Funds go to emergency program

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The National Emergency Food and Shelter Program recently awarded the Franklin County, Pa., area $45,142 for distribution to mass feeding sites and programs offering shelter.

Following an application process, a local board allocated the funding to the Salvation Army for its soup kitchen and to the Franklin County Shelter for the Homeless.

The money will be distributed to these programs in 1998 by the national board.
