Welcome sign coming to west entrance

A "Welcome To Hagerstown" sign could be posted at the west entrance to the city by mid-March, said Matt Davis, a city planner.

The sign will be paid for by the Inter Service Club Council, Davis said Tuesday. Seals of the City of Hagerstown and several clubs will be on the sign.

The sign would be posted along Washington Avenue at the intersection with Nottingham Road, Davis said.

The city would own and maintain the sign, he said.

A similar sign is on the east side of the city by Municipal Golf Course.
