Van collides with bus

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A school bus loaded with students on their way home Wednesday afternoon was hit by a van on Woodstock Road, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The 3:23 p.m. accident occurred as the school bus was coming out of the railroad underpass about a quarter of a mile east of Scotland Avenue in Greene Township, police said.

A blue 1992 Plymouth van driven by Charles Berg, 41, of 1517 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, collided with the school bus, owned by the Chambersburg Area School District, striking the front, police said.

The left front corner of the van sustained damage. Berg was not injured, police said.

Bus driver Suzanne Brookens, 46, of 308 Pine Drive, Fayetteville, Pa., and the 38 passengers were unhurt, police said.
