City woman scares away apparent intruder

A Hagerstown woman apparently scared away an intruder when she came home early Saturday, Washington County sheriff's deputies report.

The woman, who lives in the 1000 block of Dual Place, found a window in her home had been broken out, and saw a suspect running through her yard, deputies said.

Deputies checked the area but couldn't locate the suspect.

Nothing was taken from the home.

Several items stolen from car

A Jensen AM-FM Cassette Stereo, several cassette music tapes and a tool box containing miscellaneous hand tools were taken from a car parked at Certainteed Corp. at 10131 Governor Lane Blvd. in Williamsport late Friday or early Saturday, Washington County sheriff's deputies report.


Pa. man injured in wreck in Jeep

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man was injured early Thursday when he was thrown from his Jeep in a one-car accident on Grindstone Hill Road, Pennsylvania State Police report.

Joseph E. Rollason, 26, of 563 Pleasant St., was in fair condition in Chambersburg Hospital on Saturday.

Troopers said Rollason was westbound on Grindstone Hill Road at 6:55 a.m. when he lost control of his 1985 Jeep on the icy roadway. The Jeep hit a post and concrete barrier, went airborne, hit the ground, and rolled over several times, reports said.

Troopers said Rollason, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the Jeep.

Boy, 11, faces assault charge

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said aggravated assault charges will be filed against an 11-year-old Franklin County boy who allegedly aimed a loaded revolver at two other juveniles on two occasions in January.

The boy was questioned by troopers on Friday after he allegedly aimed a gun at a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old on Annamae Drive in Antrim Township at 6:45 p.m., police said. He was released to the custody of his parents, police said.

Police said a similar incident occurred at the same place on Jan. 24.

In both cases the gun was aimed at the victims after the youth engaged in a minor physical confrontation with them, police said.

Dollar bill change machine stolen

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A dollar bill change machine was stolen during a burglary at Tarco Roofing at 8650 Molly Pitcher Highway between 6:30 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 a.m. Friday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Someone drove a vehicle through farm fields owned by Harry Heinbaugh of Mercersburg early on Jan. 9 and again on Friday, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The trespassers damaged the fields, police said.
