Hancock bus service debated

January 30, 1998

HANCOCK - Hancock Mayor Daniel Murphy asked the Washington County Commissioners at their meeting Tuesday night in Hancock to consider restoring County Commuter service to the town.

Murphy said many senior citizens have difficulty getting to Hagerstown on their own and would benefit from the service.

Commissioners President Gregory I. Snook told Murphy that the route to Hancock was discontinued because few people were using it. Snook said as few as four people a week were riding that bus route.

But Snook said the commissioners were willing to reconsider the issue.
