Juveniles arrested in hit-and-run accident
Two minors were arrested Wednesday afternoon after they fled from the scene of an accident involving a van stolen from East North Street that morning, according to Hagerstown City Police.
The theft occurred around 8 a.m., police said.
The van, a blue 1994 Dodge Caravan, was left running in front of 67 E. North St. by owner Randy Lear Guys, police said. Guys, 46, of Red Oak Drive, Hagerstown, left the van to drop off something, then saw a man drive it away, police said.
The van was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Bur-hans Boulevard later in the day, police said.
A Maryland State Police trooper apprehended two juveniles, who allegedly had run from the accident, at the intersection of Walnut and Antietam streets at about 1:30 p.m., according to state police.
