Program to focus on growing orchids

FREDERICK, Md. - Clark Bouton will discuss the purchase and cultivation of orchids at Frederick County Family Life Center's brown bag lunch, Wednesday, Jan. 28, at noon. The center is at 35 E. Church St.

Bouton has been growing orchids for seven years and has 200 to 300 plants.

Orchids traditionally have been used for corsages, but these flowers make beautiful houseplants as well.

Many indoor gardeners avoid orchids because of the myths that they are expensive and difficult to maintain.

Participants in the brown bag lunch program should bring a lunch and some questions about orchids.

For information and to register, call the center at 1-301-694-9002.
