Applications for block grants extended

The deadline to apply for Community Development Block Grant funding through the City of Hagerstown has been extended from today until Tuesday.

The deadline has been extended because City Hall will be closed today in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Department of Community Development will take applications for grants or loans until 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Manager George Andreve.

The city had $2.5 million available this fiscal year. Andreve said he expects the city will have that much available for the fiscal year that starts July 1.
