BOONSBORO - A compact disc player and pair of glasses were stolen from a car on Orchard Manor Drive overnight Monday, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

The 1995 Pontiac was parked in front of a home at 103 Orchard Manor Drive Monday afternoon. The next day, a $140 CD player - which was a Christmas gift - and a $140 pair of Gargoyle Legends sunglasses were missing.

SMITHSBURG - The Washington County Sheriff's Department Tuesday investigated a report of a damaged car, authorities said.

The vehicle, a 1993 Ford Probe, was scratched between Sunday and Tuesday, deputies said. The car was parked outside a home at 45 W. Water Street.

EMMITSBURG, Md. - A six-month burglary investigation culminated Tuesday with the arrests of several youths, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.

Since last July, several Emmitsburg-area businesses have been burglarized, deputies said. Alcohol, cash and small items were stolen during the burglaries, deputies said.

Deputies said they developed leads after they charged a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl with the theft of $400 from a Stavros restaurant employee's purse. Authorities obtained information from the suspects that led to Monday's arrests.

The arrests included:

- A 15-year-old Emmitsburg boy, was charged with burglary and theft in connection with an incident that occurred at the Emmitsburg Little League concession stand on July 4.

- A 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy were charged with burglary and theft. The incident occurred Aug. 20 at Paul's Pit Stop liquor store.

- A 16-year-old girl and three boys, ages 13, 15 and 16, were charged with burglary and theft for an incident that occurred Aug. 28 at One More Tavern.

- A 16-year-old girl and three boys, ages 13, 15 and 16, were charged with attempted burglary for an incident that occurred Aug. 29 at One More Tavern.

- A 16-year-old girl and three boys, ages 13, 15 and 16, were charged with burglary and theft for an incident that occurred at One More Tavern on Jan. 1 of this year.
