Man dies in Pa. wreck

MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A 65-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of a head-on collision Monday afternoon on U.S. 30 in Fulton County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police said Monday night they were still trying to contact the family of the victim and had not released his name. The report by Trooper Michael Hetrick did not indicate where the man was from.

According to the report, he was traveling west on U.S. 30 at 3 p.m. when his 1987 Subaru crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 1992 GMC flatbed truck driven by Jorey Keen Riley, 32, of Greencastle, Pa.

After the collision, both vehicles went into the westbound lane, according to the police report. Police did not know what caused the victim's car to cross over the center line, the report said.

The victim was not wearing a seat belt, the report said. Riley was wearing his seat belt and was unhurt, police said.

The accident happened about four-tenths of a mile east of Patterson Run Road in Licking Creek Township, the report said.
