Time stands still atop City Hall

January 09, 1998

The four-faced clock atop Hagerstown's City Hall has stopped ticking, leaving the city perpetually at 1:40.

The city's electronics repairman is due back from vacation next week, said Doug Stull, public works manager. If he cannot fix the 25-year-old clock, an outside contractor will be hired.

Councilman J. Wallace McClure alerted city officials to the frozen hands of time during Tuesday's work session.
