CVS Pharmacy plans to build another store in Hagerstown, a representative of the land owner said Wednesday.

The pharmacy would be built at the northeast corner of South Potomac Street and East Wilson Boulevard, said Anthony P. Grassi, trustee for the John E. Stonebraker Jr. Testamentary Trust, which owns the land at 940 S. Potomac St.

Grassi said he expects to settle a contract this year to sell the land to The Pelican Group, of Mobile, Ala. The Pelican Group plans to buy the land for CVS, he said.

The Pelican Group representative could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.

A CVS spokeswoman said the 940 S. Potomac St. address was not on a list of proposed sites for CVS pharmacies that is available to the public.

Some proposed sites are not available for public information, said spokeswoman Joan Cronin.

There are eight CVS pharmacies in Hagerstown, including one in the South End Shopping Center.

Central Mitsubishi and Central Isuzu are now at 940 S. Potomac St.

The car dealerships will move when the contract is settled, said a dealership official who would not give her name. The dealerships would remain in Hagerstown, she said.

The 10,000-square-foot building would have a drive-through area for prescriptions, according to a site plan filed with the Hagerstown Planning Department.

The Hagerstown Planning Commission will consider whether to approve the site plan at a meeting Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m.
