More cops on the lookout for drunk drivers

From staff reports

More police will be on the prowl for drunk drivers through the New Year in the Tri-State area, according to state police in Maryland and West Virginia.

Sgt. J. A. Humphrey of the West Virginia State Police said more troopers will be on hand this week, especially after midnight Wednesday, on New Year's Day.

"The emphasis will be on looking out for DUIs," he said.

State Police in Hagerstown and Frederick, Md., also said they'd have extra troopers on patrol in an effort to deter and catch drunk drivers.
