Decorating contest winners announced

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Chambersburg Area Council for the Arts recently announced the winners of its Holiday Residential Decorating Contest.

The council received 21 entries from residents within Chambersburg Area School District boundaries.

The grand prize winner was Sandy Mathers. She won dinner for two at Bruno's Diner, two tickets to "A Christmas Carol" presented by the Caledonia Theatre Company and a gift certificate from Fusting Florist

Receiving honorable mention were:

* Barry and Jason Amsley; they won a holiday poinsettia from Greens Etc.

* Jeff and Kimberly Brookens; four tickets to the Cumberland Valley Chamber Players' performance of "Let's Dance!"

* Frank and Gloria Brown; two tickets to Cumberland Valley School of Music's Musicale

* Gerald and Yvonne Crist; four tickets to Wilson College Performing Arts Series' performance of the Starr-Boeckheler Duo

* Jim and Mary Englehart; four tickets to Wilson College Performing Arts Series' performance of "Arm of the Sea Theatre"

* Betty Fry; two tickets to a Totem Pole Playhouse performance

* John Gsell; gift certificate from Campbell Florist

* Wendy Mills; gift certificate from Plasterer's Florist

* Jeff and Janice Perry; holiday arrangement from Vangold's Florist

* Betsy and Chuck Rahauser; four tickets to Cumberland Valley Chamber Players' performance of "On the Snowy Steppes"

* Deborah Strickler; four tickets to a Chambersburg Community Theatre performance

The judges for the contest were Debbie Pananes, Marty Shull, Elva Kroeger, Melissa Knepper, Lark Stymist, Cindy Haden and Roxanne Miller.
