Exchange hosts 85 children at holiday party

Yes, Hagerstown, there is a Santa Claus.

The Antietam Exchange Club sponsored its annual Christmas Party on Dec. 12 at the Zion Evangelical Church. A total of 85 needy kids sponsored by the Parent Child Center participated.

The Antietam Exchange Club bought gifts for the kids. Boys and girls received carefully selected toys purchased by Santa from Sam's Club and delivered by Office Essentials.

Food was donated by AC&T and its suppliers.

Michael "T" Myers put on a magic show.

Special gift bags stenciled by hand by the Stencil Artist League, Inc. bulged with gifts. Children's tummies bulged with home-baked goodies from the club members.

Teddy bears provided by Children's Village helped comfort some of the younger kids who needed the help provided by the Parent Child Center staff.

The Western Maryland Troopers Association, F&M Bank, Sam's Club and Antietam Exchange Club provided funding for the event, said Arthur Schneider, the club's party chairman.
