Workers will begin in April to install pedestrian lighting along East Washington Street, City Light Manager Terry Weaver said.
The lighting will be installed in the 100 and 200 blocks of East Washington Street between Locust Street and Cannon Avenue, Weaver said. Installation will take four to six weeks.
City Council members voted 5-0 on Tuesday to buy $27,424 worth of decorative poles and ornamental fixtures for the project from HADCO of Littlestown, Pa.
Pedestrian lighting will be installed along Wilson Boulevard during the summer.
