SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Shepherdstown Day Care received a $20,000 state grant from the West Virginia Development Office to renovate and expand the nonprofit facility.
Shepherdstown Day Care director Ruth Brown said the funds will be used to improve the kitchen area.
The center serves about 87 children ranging in age from 2 to 12, she said. Children are served breakfast and lunch, as well as two snacks during the day, Brown said.
The state grant will help make sure children have a high quality place to go for care, Brown said.
The Town of Bolivar also received a $15,000 grant to repair and improve the Bolivar Community Center.
The West Virginia Development Office supports community enrichment projects that improve communities or expand economic development.
