Four centers planned

Four new assisted-living centers in Washington County have been proposed in the last six weeks.

They are:

- Manorhouse Retirement Centers Inc., of Richmond, Va., plans to build a $7 million community at 1201 Pennsylvania Ave. that would accommodate 103 residents and create more than 60 jobs.

Construction would start in the spring and take a year.

Monthly rates could range from $1,495 to $2,695.

- Emeritus Corp., of Seattle, plans to build a $7 million community on Robinwood Drive that would accommodate about 120 residents and employ almost 50 people.

Construction on Robinwood Commons is slated to start in January so it can open in October.

Monthly rates could range from $1,800 to $2,200.

- Balanced Care Corp., of Mechanicsburg, Pa., plans to build a $5 million community on Professional Court off Eastern Boulevard that would accommodate 66 residents and employ 40 people.

Construction on Outlook Pointe at Hagerstown would start in May so it can open in March 1999.

Price ranges were not available.

- Tressler Lutheran Services, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Washington County Health System plan to build a community on the Robinwood Medical Campus that would accommodate 70 residents. Officials hadn't determined the cost or number of employees yet.
