Four hurt in wreck on Sharpsburg Pike

SHARPSBURG - An accident on the Sharpsburg Pike shortly before the illumination at Antietam National Battlefield Saturday seriously injured two people.

A 1993 Nissan Maxima driven by Richard Olson, 70, of Lakewood, Colo., crossed the center line just south of Dunker Church Road, colliding head-on with a 1990 Ford Bronco driven by Daniel Harris, 37, of Manassass, Va.

The Maxima then veered off the road, striking a fence and a telephone pole. Olson and his passenger, Marion Webber, 69, of Sharpsburg, were trapped inside the car until they were freed by rescue workers.
