Buggy in accident

BOONSBORO - A horse-drawn buggy was demolished and its driver injured when a car ran into the back of it on Md. 66 at about 3 p.m. Friday, Maryland State Police said.

The buggy, driven by Nancy Hanson, 54, of Boonsboro, was rear-ended by a 1989 Toyota Corolla driven by Verle Slifer, 74, of Boonsboro, police said. Hanson suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment, police said.

Police said Slifer was blinded momentarily by the sun and didn't see the buggy as both headed south just past the Fahrney-Keedy Home.
