----

"The Hagerstown City Market will be having their craft show this coming Sunday from 10 to 4. Bring the whole family and enjoy it. There will be beautiful crafts, wreaths, flowers and baskets along with a lot of other beautiful things. Happy Holidays."

----

"Yes. This is to the mayor and city council of Williamsport. Could someone let us know who does the judging in Williamsport of Christmas decorations? With Christmas coming I know that they will be having the judging contest of decorations and as you ride through Williamsport you see many beautiful decorated houses but it seems like none of these homes ever gets picked as winners. It's always the same people and we would just like to know who does this judging and if it's the mayor, councilmen or who that picks these winners? We'd like to have a response in Mail Call. Thank you."

"This is in reference to the article 'How to keep the holidays from ruining your health.' Dec. 13 on the calendar says when drinking alcoholic beverages, alternate diet sodas or seltzer with liquor based beverages. This is wrong information. If you've ever went to a class you would know that carbonated drinks force alcohol into the bloodstream faster. Never give someone drinking a carbonated beverage. Instead offer juice or water. Also, coffee doesn't make a person sober, all you have is a wide awake drunken person. Thank you. Happy Holidays."

"Hi, Mail Call. I'm calling in response to the Social Security checks that are coming out in January with the new raises on them. The raises are probably only going to be in the amount of $18 per year but yet the federal government gets 3.5 percent, which amounts to $56 a year. We think this is very unfair and I'd like to have this thing printed please. Thank you."

----

"Hi. I'd like to thank God and all the people at the Washington County Hospital that helped our son last year on Dec. 1 in his full recovery from a brain aneurysm. Thank you from Mom and Dad."

----

"The APA administrator has an overly aggressive and abrasive attitude. I don't believe one thing she says. She should be replaced."

----

"Yes. I'm the past president and now president again of lawn bowling at Pangborn Park and I just want to inform the person that called in about the lights that the city gave us new lights last June, this past summer, and they are working very, very good and I thank you for your interest but we've received very good results from the new lights. Come out and bowl with us. Thank you."

"I'm calling in response to the person that called about the dog across the alley from them. I've had a lot of dealings with the SPCA - bad ones, and you're always hearing bad things about them but I'm not calling to crack on them. If you really want to help this dog and the people do not come out to clean it or to see it, (I don't condone this either usually) but have someone take the dog and find it a good home. What else can you do? The poor dog's going to die and if people don't know he's even out there then why not give him to someone that will take care of him? Thanks."

----

"I'm calling in reference to the person that wants to know about Benson fruitcakes. You can call 301-739-3298 and get them. He's with the Lions Club and knows all about them. Thank you."

----

"Yes. I'm calling about the person who called about the police going down the street without headlights on. This possibly could have been the police officers and they sometimes have to arrive at a scene with stealth. And if you don't understand what stealth means, it means quietly and not seen. So if you don't know what you're talking about, don't call in about it."

----

"Hi. My cat is lost and he's a gray, white and brown tabby. He's neutered and has no claws. He was last seen on Nov. 24 on Neck Road. If anyone saw him or has any information please call 301-223-6327. Thank you."

----

"Hi Mail Call. I'm calling in regard about the article about the dog. This dog is a hunting dog and he's not going to freeze. This woman has nothing better to do than to sit up on the hill and watch my parents' yard. She trespasses on their property and nothing is said or done. She has called the SPCA numerous times and they have visited my parents' home and nothing is ever found to be wrong. I wish this woman would get a life and leave the dog and my parents alone. Yes, they are in their 80s and they have more things to worry about than some nosy so-called neighbor. All I want to say to this woman is to stop harassing my parents and get a life. The dog is fine. Thank you."
