December holidays usually are portrayed in soft- focus images of families gathered around festive tables, contented children playing under a glowing tree with long wished-for toys, a loving couple sharing a New Year's Eve kiss.
Sometimes reality is not so picture-perfect.
Did your cat or your kids ever knock over the Christmas tree? Did your dog eat the handmade gingerbread ornaments it took you three days to paint? Or did he sneak into the kitchen and devour the holiday turkey like the neighbors' hounds in the 1983 movie "A Christmas Story?"
We'd like to hear about our readers' holiday disasters and how they survived them.
