November 29, 1997

PLEASANTVILLE - An accidental explosion in a man's garage Friday destroyed his two antique cars, pickup truck, 22-foot camper and a garage full of tools.

Donald Myers, 18032 Pleasantville Road, lost an estimated $150,000 worth of belongings, said Ronnie Gray, deputy chief of the Potomac Valley Fire Co.

Myers had just left his garage and went into his house about 1:20 p.m. when some combustible vapors in the garage exploded, Gray said.

The garage was quickly engulfed in flames, destroying a 1965 Ford Mustang and 1955 Chevrolet, which had both been fully restored.

About 40 firefighters helped put the fire under control, Gray said.
