Rose G. McCauley

Rose Grace McCauley, 80, of 12 Walnut St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at her home.

Born Nov. 10, 1917, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Mary Elizabeth McCarter Moore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Milford McCauley.

She was retired from Western Maryland Hospital; and was previously employed with Washington County Hospital.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was a member of a prayer group.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia A. Smith and Darlene M. Yetter, both of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Linda L. Bonds of Clear Spring; two sons, Denton L. McCauley of Williamsport and Kenneth J. McCauley of Falling Waters, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by one son, Donald M. McCauley Jr.; two sisters, Catherine Koons and Virginia Moore; and one brother, Thomas H. Moore Jr.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 226 W. Washington St., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Patricia M. Davies

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Patricia Miriam Davies, 62, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, Nov. 28, 1997, at St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore.

Born Nov. 22, 1935, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Frances Elizabeth Johnson Ferris of Tamarac, Fla., and the late Francis Paul Ferris.

She was preceded in death by her husband, retired Army Sgt. Thomas Edward Davies, in 1991.

She attended Roxborough High School, Philadelphia.

She worked as a cashier at Thompson's Grocery Store, Hanover, Md.; as a cook at Fairfax Restaurant, The Country Inn and Risinger-Stotler Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4019, all in Berkeley Springs; as a seamstress at Berkeley Springs Garment Factory and Vanguard Products, both in Berkeley Springs; and most recently she had been a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Berkeley Springs.

She is survived by three daughters, Miriam Davies of Brooklyn, Md., Elizabeth Shifflett of Baltimore and Ann Marie Michael of Berkeley Springs; two sons, Michael Joseph Ferris of Glen Burnie, Md., and Edward Thomas Davies of Berkeley Springs; three sisters, Margaret Middleton of Norristown, Pa., Claire Ziejewski of Tamarac and Eileen Ciccarone of Jeffersonville, Pa.; two brothers, Francis Ferris of North Wales, Pa., and James Ferris of Bridgeport, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Liturgy will be offered Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 116 S. Washington St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. John S. Ledford will officiate. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs.
