WILLIAMSPORT - A Hagerstown man was charged Saturday with stealing a Williamsport woman's car, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.

Daryl Regan Pope, 20, of 252 Daycotah Ave., was charged with stealing a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse owned by Robin Stonbreaker of 38 E. Frederick St., police said.

Pope was also charged with and two counts of malicious destruction of property, police said.

Pope allegedly damaged the Eclipse and smashed two windows out of a Plymouth Neon owned by Donna Younker of 39 E. Salisbury St., Williamsport, police said.

Pope was picked up about 2 p.m. Saturday at Hagerstown City Police headquarters, where he was being held on a charge of driving while intoxicated, police said.

WILLIAMSPORT - Someone smashed two windows out of a Plymouth Neon owned by Donna Younker, 36, overnight Saturday, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.

Younker's car was parked in front of her residence at 39 E. Salisbury St., police said.

KNOXVILLE - A Knoxville couple's 1997 Hyundai Elantra was stolen about midnight Saturday, the Washington County Sheriff's Department said.

Larry and Kay Shafer's car was parked at 19540 Garretts Mill Road. The doors were unlocked and the keys were left in the ignition, police said.

ROXBURY, Pa. - Police are looking for a red car that hit a Roxbury, Pa., woman's car and then fled Friday night.

The red car ran a stop sign at the intersection of Pa. 997 and Pa. 641 about 11 p.m. and hit the right side of Ann Marie Shaw's 1988 Chrysler LeBaron, which was parked in her driveway, Pennsylvania State Police said.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - An unidentified woman left Rutters Store in Quincy Township Friday without paying for $5 worth of gas, Pennsylvania State Police said.

She drove a black Pontiac Grand Am from the store about 4:40 p.m., police said.

JEFFERSON, Md. - An Ijamsville, Md., man told police he was rolling a large marijuana cigarette before he was stopped for speeding on U.S. 340 Saturday morning, Maryland State Police said.

John L. Hockman Jr., 24, was charged with possession of marijuana, driving while suspended and speeding, police said.

Trooper First Class Jamie Layton saw Hockman trying to hide something in the back seat during the traffic stop, police said.

After Hockman agreed to a search, Layton found a plastic baggie stuffed under the rear seat cusion containing a cigar and 12.4 grams of marijuana, police said.
