Rando's property sold

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two properties that had been owned by Rando Enterprises and former gym owner Randall Coyle were sold Monday to the woman who lent him the money to buy the properties.

Eleanor Pritts of Martinsburg was the only bidder Tuesday morning at the trustee's sale in the Berkeley County Courthouse.

A house on Circle Drive in Martinsburg that belonged to Rando Enterprises was sold to Pritts for the opening bid of $72,770. Coyle's undivided half interest in approximately 18 undeveloped acres on Paynes Ford Road went for $250,323.

Trustee James D. Steptoe said the prices on the properties were based on "everything that's owed under her note, both principal and interest, and the cost of the sale."

Steptoe said Pritts doesn't have to pay for the house and land. He said she essentially reclaimed the collateral on the loans she made to Rando Enterprises and Coyle.

Coyle had owned the Rando's Fitness Centers in Martinsburg and Hagerstown until selling his interest in the businesses. Both are now operated by Gold's Gym.

The Martinsburg center had been closed by a court order since Sept. 19 until reopening Nov. 11.
