Parent charged in school drug search

Hagerstown City Police doing a routine drug search in the parking lot of Washington County Career Studies Center on Thursday ended up charging a parent with drug possession.

Kevin Scott Davis, 40, of 9867 Crossfield Road, was charged with possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia, police said.

About 2:20 p.m., three dogs trained to detect drugs were searching the parking lot of the school on Oak Ridge Drive when they alerted on a car.

While officers were checking to see who owned the car, Davis arrived in a different car and started to get in the suspect car, police said.
