Both women were wearing seat belts, police said.

According to police, Yeakle was heading north on Woods Road when she pulled into the path of a truck driven by Edward E. Carbaugh, 26, of 7072 Little Cove Road, Mercersburg, as he was traveling south on Lemar Road.

Carbaugh was wearing his seat belt and was not injured, police said.

Yeakle had volunteered for Meals on Wheels for at least five years, said Dorothy Paylor, program director. She was retired from Corning Inc. in Greencastle, Pa., Paylor said.
