MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Nine hours of music and an auction will be held Saturday at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 480 Williamsport Pike, to raise money for Jordy Carper, the Hedgesville, W.Va., boy who underwent a double lung transplant in June.

Whiskey River, Country Seasons and Aces Up will be among the bands performing beginning at 3 p.m., according to club President Paul Huff.

Admission is by donation at the door. Food and refreshments are free.

"We're hoping we can raise a couple of thousand dollars or more," Huff said.

All proceeds from the event will go toward helping the Carper family pay off outstanding medical bills and for his continuing medication.

"Some people have already made cash donations," Huff said.

An auction will be held at the club, with merchandise and services donated by area businesses and individuals put up for bid. The two-hour auction will begin at 6 p.m., followed by music from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Those who cannot attend the event can make donations to the Jordy Carper Fund by sending checks in care of the Eagles Club to P.O. Box 5054, Martinsburg, W.Va. 25402; or in care of Pastor Mitch Miller, Falling Waters Presbyterian Church, Route 1, Box 138, Hedgesville, W.Va. 25427.
