Several events planned to honor veterans

A number of Veterans Day events are planned around Washington County, featuring guest speakers, school assemblies and patriotic ceremonies.

- Saturday, Nov. 8, at 10:45 a.m., at Boonsboro Senior High School, Joseph Frank, immediate past national commander of The American Legion, will be speaking at a program sponsored by Clopper Michael Post 10.

- Saturday, Nov. 8, at 6:30 p.m., Morris Frock Post 42, Frank will speak.

- Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 9 a.m., Marty Snook Park at the monument, Veterans Day program for all current and former Marines, call 301-432-5289 for more information.

- Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m., Clear Spring High School auditorium, Alex Ilczuk, immediate past commander of the Maryland State American Legion, will be guest speaker. There will be music.

- Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., Potomac Post 202 in Williamsport, Clarence Bacon, past national commander of The American Legion, Williamsport Middle School Band.

- Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., in front of Washington County Courthouse, Veterans Day program and wreath-laying ceremony, Commander William "Chip'' Beck, U.S. Navy (ret), will be guest speaker, call 301-733-0121 for wreath information.
