Welfare charges filed

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Charges of welfare fraud have been filed by the Office of Inspector General against a Chambersburg, Pa., woman, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania inspector general.

The criminal complaint alleges that Holly H. Warsing, 25, of the 100 block of North Sixth Street, received $1,791 in public assistance benefits by failing to report employment and wages from CVS Pharmacy to the Franklin County Assistance Office from Sept. 6, 1996 to Feb. 28.

The charges were filed before District Justice Gary Carter.

Those who are found guilty of welfare fraud may face a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, fines up to $15,000, mandatory restitution to the Commonwealth and program disqualification.
