Hagerstown man charged with DWI after accident

A Hagerstown man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a two-car accident on Route 40 near Walnut Point Road just after midnight Friday, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

A car being driven by Edward Allen Mina was traveling west on the road when it crossed the center line and struck a car being driven by Ricky Hornbaker of Hagerstown, deputies said.

Hornbaker and his wife were transported to Washington County Hospital and treated for minor injuries, police said.

Mina was charged with driving while intoxicated and fail to drive right of center, police said.

Couple charged in domestic dispute

A man and woman were charged with domestic violence and second-degree assault Friday night following a disturbance at a house on Hillsdale Court, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.


Deputies responded to the house at 17011 for a 911 hangup. The front door was locked, and police could see a woman inside. A man answered the door and said nothing was wrong, police said.

After additional investigation, police learned there was an argument and a physical altercation between the husband and wife at the house. The wife suffered bruises to her chest and upper left arm, and the man suffered a cut on his left shoulder and a split lip, police said.

Youngsters charged with dealing crack

FREDERICK, Md. - A 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy were arrested Friday night for allegedly selling crack cocaine at an apartment building, according to police.

Frederick Police said they saw the boys selling crack about 8:40 p.m. at the Hickory Hill Apartments, located in the 1400 block of Key Parkway.

The boys were charged with distribution of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and other violations, police said.
