Teen struck in face by group of youths

BOONSBORO - A 17-year-old boy was struck in the face several times Monday night by a group of youths while he sat on the porch of his home in the 900 block of Orchard Manor Drive, Washington County Sheriff's deputies said.

The teen, who didn't require hospitalization for three cuts on his face, told deputies he was approached by four or five white males who jumped out of a white car with a black top around 9 p.m.

Several suspects are being sought, deputies said Tuesday morning.

Motorcycle stolen from storage shed

A motorcycle valued at $5,500 was reported stolen Monday evening from the 20700 block of Trovinger Mill Road, according to Washington County Sheriff's deputies.


The motorcycle, which was parked inside a storage shed, is described as a red and orange 1997 Honda CR 125.

Teen's condition improves to fair

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Saxton, Pa., teen's condition improved to fair Tuesday at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown as he recovers from injuries suffered when his car struck a tree and a telephone pole late Sunday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Robert Eldon Wise, 19, of 920 Main St., was traveling west on Pa. 16 at Letzburg Road in Antrim Township at 11:23 p.m. when he fell asleep at the wheel, police said.

Frederick gunman charged with assault

FREDERICK, Md. - A gunman surrendered to police Tuesday afternoon after firing a shot into a house across the street, authorities said.

David John Bueter, 37, of 168 W. All Saints St., Frederick, was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, destruction of property and discharging a firearm within city limits, according to the Frederick Police Department.

A screaming woman called 911 from the residence at about 4:05 p.m., mentioned a gun and then hung up, police said. When police officers arrived, they found the woman outside the building and a man with a shotgun inside, police said.

The woman had been assaulted, police said.

Police officers outside the home attempted to make contact with the man for about 30 minutes and dispatchers attempted to call him by phone, police said.

Bueter allegedly fired a shot out his window into a house across the street.

Finally, Assistant Communications Supervisor Deborah Moen contacted the man by phone and convinced him to walk out the front door and surrender, police said.

Man charged with burglary, assault

A man who allegedly broke into an Oak Ridge apartment early Monday morning and allegedly threatened to kill the occupant turned himself in to Washington County Sheriff's deputies Monday night.

Bodie Elwood Grimm, 37, of 21340 Twin Springs Drive, Smithsburg, was released after posting $10,000 bond. He is charged with first-degree burglary, first- and second-degree assault, destruction of property, and two handgun violations, according to Deputy Richard Schleigh.

At 1:30 a.m. Monday, the resident of an apartment in the 10800 block of Oak Ridge Place told deputies that Grimm arrived at the residence carrying a handgun and attempted to break in.

After several unsuccessful attempts at the door, Grimm allegedly broke in a window, entered the apartment and threatened the resident with the handgun, deputies said.

The victim ran out of the apartment just as deputies arrived.
