Area students win scholarships

The Williamsport American Legion Potomac Post 202 has awarded $1,000 scholarships to eight area students.

They include:

* Michael Freeman, son of Jeffrey and Carla Freeman of Hagerstown. Freeman, a Williamsport High grad, is a junior at Juniata College in Huntington, Pa.

* John Rowland, son of John and Carol Rowland of Hagerstown. Rowland, a Williamsport High grad, is a junior at the University of Maryland in College Park, Md.

* Emily Donaldson, daughter of Allan and Susanne Donaldson of Williamsport. Donnaldson, a Williamsport High grad, is a junior at Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, W.Va.

* Julie Lutz, daughter of Lawrence and Carol Lutz of Middletown, Md. Lutz, a graduate of Middletown High School, is a sophomore at Frederick Community College.

* Thomas Harsh, son of Roy and Norma Harsh of Williamsport. Harsh, a graduate of Williamsport High School, is a freshman at Hagerstown Junior College.

The following three $1,000 scholarships were awarded by the 2nd Last Man's Club of Potomac Post 202:

* Amanda Burk, daughter of Earl and Sharon Burk of Williamsport. Burk, a Williamsport High grad, is a sophomore at Hagerstown Junior College.

* Branndon Kelley, son of Kenneth and Roxanne Kelley of Falling Waters, W.Va. Kelley, a graduate of Hedgesville (W.Va.) High School, is a freshman at Shepherd College.

* James Green Jr., son of James Sr. and Mary Green of Falling Waters. Green, a graduate of Hedgesville High, is a freshman at Shepherd College.
