GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Greencastle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6319 will plant a sugar maple Saturday at the Jerome R. King Playground to replace a tree planted in 1951 in honor of Harry D. Ziegler, the first casualty from the area in World War II.

The post is named for Ziegler. The original tree died.

The 11 a.m. ceremony will include an invocation, short biography of Ziegler and remarks by Nate Bacon, chairman of the borough's Shade Tree Commission.

The Ziegler family will also be present.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Boy Scout Troop 99 of Greencastle will sell Maine-made Christmas wreaths as a troop fund-raiser.

The wreaths will arrive on Thanksgiving weekend, will be 24 inches in diameter and be adorned with a large red bow and real pinecones. They sell for $17.

Orders may be placed by calling Scoutmaster Dan Timmons at 1-717-597-4924. Orders must be received by Nov. 12.
