BALTIMORE - The Maryland State Conference of Branches, Youth Councils and College Chapters of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will hold its 57th annual convention Oct. 24 and 25 at the Columbia Hilton, 5484 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, Md.
The theme of the convention is "Building the Gap to the 21st Century: Making Democracy Work." Issues will be discussed and courses of action will be mapped out in education, political action, employment discrimination and Women in the NAACP workshops.
Gov. Parris Glendening is expected to speak on Oct. 25.
