Sections of U.S. 40 through downtown Hagerstown will be closed for three days starting Wednesday as state crews mill and repave rough patches of road, a city official said.
The sections are:
Franklin Street at Cannon Avenue.
Franklin Street at Mulberry Street.
Franklin Street near the post office.
Washington Street near Summit Avenue.
Washington Street near Mulberry Street.
Burhans Boulevard at the intersections of Franklin and Washington streets.
Lanes will be closed periodically during the work, said Assistant City Engineer Rodney Tissue.
Maryland State Highway Administration crews will mill the roads during the day and pave them at night to minimize traffic disruption, he said.
