CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - An 89-year-old Hanover, Pa., man died Friday night after his car crashed in Hamilton Township earlier in the day, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Milton L. Sherrick was pronounced dead at York Hospital at 8:35 p.m. Friday, while undergoing treatment for the injuries he suffered in the crash, police said.
Police said Sherrick was driving a 1992 Oldsmobile 88 Royale sedan westbound on U.S. 30 at 11:44 a.m., near the Little Dipper Restaurant, when for an unknown reason he crossed over the middle and eastbound lanes.
The car then struck a mailbox and a low stone wall, and then traveled along a ditch before becoming airborne, police said. The Oldsmobile hit a telephone pole before coming to a rest, police said.
