Score big with your pregame spread

It's fall, and football season is here! You can score a tailgate party touchdown with recipes created especially for game day.

To kick off your party, plan easy appetizers like a tray of assorted cheeses that includes a soft, spreadable cheese. It's ideal for crackers, chips, veggies and fruit. Use it to make a variety of "game day" party treats.

For the main dish, try Kickoff Kabobs with Red Zone Dipping Sauce. Hearty skewers of grilled chicken and fresh vegetables paired with a zesty cheese sauce will satisfy even a linebacker's appetite. Serve kabobs with a classic potato salad.

Potatoes shouldn't be refrigerated. When refrigerated, starches are converted to sugars.

Instead, store in the coolest, nonrefrigerated area of your house.

Pack your tailgate party food in durable, well-insulated ice chests to keep it safely chilled before, during and after the game.

Some new coolers come in rich autumnal shades, making them ideal for fall hunting, fishing and camping, as well as tailgating.
