3 flee VisionQuest caught soon after

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Three youths from VisionQuest in South Mountain, Pa., stole a car from the youth facility Thursday afternoon and got as far as Oxford, Pa., near Gettysburg, Pa., before they were caught, state police in Chambersburg said.

State police in Gettysburg also helped in the apprehension.

One of the escapees is 18 and was jailed in the Franklin County Prison. The other two juveniles were turned over to a juvenile detention facility, police said.

The three left VisionQuest around 2:30 p.m. and were caught around 4 p.m., police said.

Man charged with assaulting wife

A 41-year-old Fairplay man was arrested early Thursday and charged with assaulting his wife, Washington County sheriff's deputies report.

William Raymond Shanholtz, of 8500 Reichard Rd., was in custody Thursday morning on one count of second-degree assault. He was released on personal recognizance.


Officers said that just before 4 a.m., they went to the Shanholtz's home. They said the victim, Linda Shanholtz, refused medical treatment at the scene for a small cut on her forehead. They said the couple had been arguing.
