September 25, 1997

The land transfer allowing Community Rescue Service to construct a new $1.4 million, four-bay building on Eastern Boulevard was approved Tuesday night.

Hagerstown City Council members voted 3-0 to transfer the property north of the Independent Junior Fire Engine Co. to the ambulance service.

Councilman Lewis C. Metzner abstained because he is vice president of Community Rescue Service.
