It's not even Halloween and area ghosts and goblins already are pulling a trick on Washington County residents.
All but one of the county's nine municipalities has agreed to make Oct. 30 trick or treat night, Hagerstown Councilman Lewis C. Metzner said Tuesday night.
Funkstown is the only town not participating because Town Council members already decided to have trick or treat night on Oct. 31 - Halloween, officials said.
Town officials try to set trick or treat night as close to Halloween as possible, said Funkstown Mayor Robert Kline.
Regardless of the town, trick or treating will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., officials said.
Metzner had proposed setting a designated night to minimize problems and discourage children from trick or treating in neighborhoods other than their own.
