September 23, 1997

The first phase of the Robinwood Drive upgrade project has been completed, including widening the road to four lanes between Mount Aetna Road and Robinwood Medical Center and upgrading the intersection of Mount Aetna and Robinwood.

The work cost $2.25 million, according to County Engineer Terry McGee. Future phases, including the widening of Robinwood between the medical center and Jefferson Boulevard, and the upgrading of Edgewood Drive from U.S. 40 to Mount Aetna, will cost between $15 million and $20 million and could take five years or longer, McGee said.

The costs are expected to be borne by a combination of county, state and developer funds.
