City man arrested in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. - Frederick City Police arrested a 20-year-old Hagerstown man Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a juvenile girl at the Frederick Towne Mall parking lot on Sept. 17.

Gabriel Brooke Bentz, 20, of Woodpoint Avenue, was charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sex offense, third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense, sodomy and second-degree assault.

He was being held on $350,000 bond at the Frederick County Detention Center

Hagerstown man charged with assault

BOONSBORO - A 28-year-old Hagerstown man was arrested early Saturday after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in Boonsboro's Town Square.

Michael Shane Dixon, of 206 N. Mulberry St., was charged withsecond-degree assault, malicious destruction of property and disorderly conduct, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.


Dixon allegedly assaulted his girlfiriend and then smashed a plate glass window at Carribean Accents, a business located below her apartment, deputies said.

His father atttempted to subdue him and was assaulted also. Bystanders held him down until police arrived, deputies said.

It took five people to take him into custody, sheriff's deputies, state police troopers and two off-duty Division of Correction employees, according to the sheriff's department.

Dixon cut his arm on the window he smashed and was taken to Washington County Hospital for treatment, deputies said.
