HARRISBURG, Pa. - The third annual Chambersburg Seniors' Fair, for individuals 60 or older, will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26 at the Chambersburg Recreation Center, 235 S. Third Street. There is no charge to attend.
The fair will include 50 local and state organizations, agencies and businesses providing seniors with information, services and free promotional items. Seniors who have PennDOT work or problems should stop by to see the new PennDOT Mobile Bus, which can help with licensing, registration and title transactions.
Free services will be provided, including blood pressure, diabetes and foot screenings. Cholesterol testing can be done for a $5 fee. Speakers will be featured throughout the day and will address topics such as safety, fitness and health care. Door prizes donated by local businesses will be raffled off and there will be free refreshments.
The event is being sponsored by Rep. Jeff Coy, NARFE, AARP, Franklin County Area Agency on Aging, Menno Haven, Inc., Luther Ridge Retirement Village and Summit Health.
